Artfully crafted, the Takuma Japanese Platform Bed is made of 100% solid Parawood from Indonesia, which is sustainably harvested and an environmentally friendly wood. The Parawood, also known as the Rubber Tree, is valued for its overall strength, dense wood grain, and attractive light color. It is also prized as an environmentally friendly wood since the wood is plantation-harvested from grown rubber trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing cycle.

The Takuma is constructed with solid blocks of Parawood bonded together on finger joints so the rails can flex along the glue lines with changes in temperature and humidity, and then finished with an inert lacquer finish. The finger joints can add a unique look to the lighter natural and honey oak finishes but blend into a more uniform look on the dark walnut finishes.
